Inspired by Gina

Gina has inspired me to do a post on style and now that she's back with a new wardrobe we are all going to have to step it up. So here are a few things that have gotta go, well according to Oprah at least.

1. Holiday Sweaters with bells and appliques
2. Granny necklaces that tell how many grandchildren you have
3. t-shirts with meant to be funny sayings (not sure I agree with this one just yet)
4. flesh colored hose (better to wear leg spray or fishnets, according to Oprah)
5. shoulder pads
6. bearlike, full length fur coats (haven't seen that lately)
7. (and my favorite to wear), three-peice suits with vests.

Christmas Day!

Wow this holiday has been jam packed with fun, family and well honestly a little feuding with the kiddos. Really, we have had a great holiday, it all started Sunday afternoon when we got together with my side of the family and had lots of good food and fun, then it ended with a trip to the live nativity with my Grandmother who was absolutely thrilled to get to ride by her church who always hosts the live nativity. Christmas Eve, we went to Craig's family and had a lot of fun catching up with his family. Then we made another stop by the live nativity, this time getting out, the kids were thrilled and it was freezing. Then we came home and got in pj's and read the Christmas story, in the middle of the story Tessa breaks out in song singing "there was no room for him, there was no room for him there was no room for him" it was adorable. After, the story we sang all the Christmas songs we could think of and the kids went to bed to wait on Santa. Craig and I proceeded to watch Christmas Vacation, but both dozed off and didn't wake up until around midnight. This morning Emma and Isaiah woke up at 6:30 but we didn't actually get up until 7:30, they were pacing the floors ready to see what Santa brought. Everyone was happy, even Tessa although I think she had the most fun terrorizing everyone elses gifts, by 8:30 she had everyone of them upset trying to get their gifts. Then Dad came over, and we had breakfast, oh I forgot by the morning our heat had quit working and it was a very chilly morning, so Dad tried to work on the heat but no success so we had to call the very nice great guy that we rent from and he came straight over and fixed it in less than 10 minutes flat. Dad played with all the kids toys and then he left to go to my sister's house. Then we went to see Nanny, and came home and took a nice nap. After we woke up, we did the only sensible thing and that was eat, so we went to the Waffle house where everyone else in Rome was, it was fun and the food was delicious, we only go there once a year so it's becoming a tradition! So here are some pictures from this Wonderful Christmas.

Medical Services You can receive at your local vet...

So, after reading Craig's blog and having a great time with some friends last night, I have been inspired to enlighten you about services you can have done at your local vet (if you know the right person). Through the years we have been very blessed to have 2 great friends who are veterinarians, they have always told us anything you need.....
The most memorable and exciting thing we had done at the vet was when I was pregnant with Gracie we wanted to know if she was a boy or a girl, so the vet did an ultrasound with a horse ultrasound machine, I actually think I had a couple of those done, actually now that I think about this I wonder if that's why Gracie calls herself a monkey??
One time the school called and made me come get Isaiah, for a sore place on his hand, they wanted him to see a doctor so ofcourse the first place we stopped was the vet (they didn't specify what kind of doctor), the doctor treated it with some antibiotic ointment and patched it up for him.
The most recent is when craig cracked his wrist the vet xrayed and wrapped up his wrist for him, and actually called to check on him later.
The funny thing is, we don't have any pets, but we go to the vet more than we do the doctor and get Great care!! I could probably list more, but probably shouldn't so I'll stop now.

Some sad news today, the kids had the most adorable Christmas program today and I got lots of great pictures, the camera was full so I went to delete some I had already downloaded and formatted the entire camera!!

It's the most Wonderful Time of the Year

The biggest misconception about Christmas is that the kids don't know the true meaning. We go out and buy tons of presents, stress over spending too much money and everyone seems to foget why we are celebrating. This year however in our family it is so different. The kids have barely asked for any presents, they just want to know how we will celebrate Jesus Birthday. My heart was warmed so many times today as God reminded me that our Children really do know what Christmas is all about. First thing when I picked Tessa and Ella up from school they were excited, Tessa saw a barn and was thrilled that it was the stable where baby Jesus was born. Then Ella chimes in and is telling Tessa how God is everybody's Dad. Then we go to the mall to get haircuts and Tessa out of the blue asks the hairdresser does she know baby Jesus, which brought a smile to all our faces and opened up a whole lot of topics to be discussed. Isaiah and I went to the dump and were just talking about random things and he wants to know how we are going to celebrate Jesus birthday before we open our presents. I said what do you think we should do and he replies pray, and read the story of when Jesus was born. Wow! That boy really makes my heart smile. Then tonight Tessa starts singing Jesus was born in bed-a-ham, and some other stuff I really couldn't understand. I love Christmas and I love seeing Christmas through Children's eyes.
