This is Life

The last couple of days have been a whirlwind of chaos. I got up at 5:30 This morning so i would have time to pray, read my bible and wash clothes in peace and hope for a good day, i wanted a brand new start because yesterday was pretty rocky. Yesterday Tessa got sent to the "principals office" for pitching a fit and telling her teacher to shut up, how embarrassing. Gracie has gotten notes 2 days in a row now for not turning in her homework and talking to much in class. Everyone was in bed by 9:30 but Gracie got up at least 10 times after that. Then at 6;30 This morning it all started again when Gracie wanted to wear a low cut tank top (which is not allowed) to school, it caused an all out fit that lasted until we left at 7:10 to which Isaiah finally talked her into putting on what i had laid out, then she crys all most the entire way to emma's school (20 minutes away)because she thinks she looks ugly, and when she finally stops it starts all over again to find out she had left her tennis shoes at home and today was p.e. day ofcourse we had flip flops in the car but that just wouldn't work. So still in tears when we did get to their school the p.e. coach was standing outside so i explained the situation and he just nodded his head (i hope that meant yes she could participate in p.e.) and she went on in. So as if that wasn't enough, i was almost in tears by now myself, Tessa begins to get carsick and throws up, then a few minutes later ella got choked and she threw up milk, not really prepared for all of this i dig through the car and actually found extra clothes. On the way to school i try to talk to Tessa about please using the potty at school and to please obey her teacher and pick up toys when it is clean up time, but she didn't like that conversation and started yelling no, so i let it go not wanting a fit to arise while unloading at school. All this in the midst of finding out we had overdrawn once again this week in our bank account, taking up about a forth of the direct deposit craig got paid last night. With all this being said, everything happens for a reason (i guess) Here's what i have learned today, Emma and Isaiah are so responsible, Gracie needs to get to bed earlier, I should always make sure to have extra clothes for Tessa and Ella, and i really do need to get back on the Dave Ramsey plan and quitting using the check card, oh and i should really start balancing the check book :)

update: Tessa did good at school today, Yay!!!!

Don't ask me how i know

I rarely ever listen to country but i had it on south 107 this morning and i heard this song, and i thought it was a good song, i rarely hear a country song that gets me thinking but this was one of those. So here are the lyrics;

Don't ask me how i know
Bobby Pinson

Don’t ride your bike off a ramp that’s more than three bricks high
Don’t take that candy from the store if you ain’t got the dime
Don’t pick a fight with a little guy that doesn’t talk that much
Don’t pick up a cherrybomb thinkin’ it’s a dud And don’t sneak out of a 2 story house usin’ bed sheets for a rope
Don’t ask me how I know
Sell your truck while it’s still runnin’, save the Jesus off the dash
Say a prayer when you feel like cussin’, save your money - pay with cash
Forget your pride, buy the roses, if you’re sorry tell her so
Don’t drink the water in Mexico Don’t ask me how I know
Don’t quit your high school football team halfway through the season Don’t bust your buddy in the nose when you know he didn’t mean it
Don’t lose a girl you love at home for a night in Panama City Don’t rush off the phone when your Mama calls - you ain’t that busy Ya oughta make that drive to say goodbye to your grampa ‘fore he goes
Don’t ask me how I know
Forget your pride buy the roses, if you love her tell her so, Don’t go to Vegas with your heart broke, Don’t bum your cousin for that first smoke I'm tellin' ya, don't drink the water in Mexico Don't ask me how I know
Don't ask me how I know I just know sell your truck while it's still runnin', say a prayer when you feel like cussin 'I know,

Car talk

There has been a lot of discussion on dying and going to heaven this week. Just the last few days the kids have been so much more curious than usual. So today we were in the car and Ella (4) was talking about going to heaven and God talking to her and she said " Last night God told me to sleep with Gracie" I said really? and she said "yes and then he told me to go sleep with Isaiah". I thought that was pretty cute, i just wonder if it's really true. I guess a lot of times though we say God is talking to us and telling us what to do, when it is really us just doing what we want to do.
Which brings me to yesterday which is totally off topic, they were talking about what they want to be when they grow up, Gracie (6) wants to be a monkey and a cop, and Ella and Tessa want to be cheerleaders.

This Weekend

Wow!! This weekend at women of Faith was so great. I had the best time. I learned i have some really great friends, and how much fun it is to share 1 hotel room with 4 women. I have never had so much fun staying up until 4:00 in the morning my whole life and sleeping 3 in a bed. We had a lot of meaningful discussions and not so meaningful but memorable!! WE had the best bust driver "George" who let us blow the horn and ofcourse the BEST leader of all Gina. The trip was so well planned and organized and fun, thank you Gina, you really are the best!!! This trip made me feel like my life really does have meaning and purpose and i'm so excited to try and be what God really does want me to be. One other thing i learned is to let it go, and to shut up, there was one more thing but i can't remember that one. In case you are wondering the kids are fine, the house was well so so, but Craig did a great job and everyone was happy, he even coodinated a movie trip and went to the movies. I think we now need to have a mini women's conference/sleepover at least once a month since we know the men can do it!! So that's about it for now.

The good news is....

I figured i would post some good things about this week and so here they are:
Emma can now open her locker at school
Isaiah is inviting his friends and teachers to XL
Gracie is reading like crazy
Ella has slept 2 full nights in HER bed
Tessa is using the potty full time except for poop, any advice?
and i am going to women of faith on friday....Yay!!!! i can't wait

Some not so good things about today are, craig has now wasted 32 ounces of spaghetti that the recipe only called for 8 oz. That is going to be a dry casserole!! Well, that's all i can think of right now!

Happy Aniversary

Today is our 12 year anniversary, It has been a good 12 years, with 5 great kids. I can't imagine life any different, what we have works so Happy Anniversary to us!!! This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago right before we went into the Faith Hill and Tim McGraw concert, i guess you could say this was our early anniversary present, we had a lot of fun together just one on one which doesn't happen very often.
So, I have kind of lacked the last few days with school starting and all so here is the update. Emma started middle school wednesday, and it was very exciting and ofcourse nerve wracking, she loves it, however she still can't open her locker. Other than that it is going great for her. Gracie and Isaiah, started 1st and 4th grade and they both love it and both have great teachers. The second day of school the nurse had to pull a tick out of Gracie's hair ( they had been climbing trees) Ella had one too. The drive is a little much in the mornings and afternoons since we are out of district and all. Isaiah and Tessa get carsick just about every morning since we are going over the mountain to get there. The drive from our house is about 20 to Emma's then about 10 to Gracie and isaiah's then about 20 back home, then in the afternoons it takes me from about 2:30 -4:00 to get back home. That's ok though they love their schools and i do too. We got back on the potty training wagon last night and actually went to the mall in big girl panties with no accidents, and today so far so good (it is only 9:50 a.m.). But i have confidence!! Less than 2 weeks before Ella and Tessa start school!
